Sustainability governance at CRH

As a global leader, we are committed to operate as a sustainable business with policies and procedures that benefit our environment, establish a culture of integrity and shape our long-term response to global challenges. The CRH Board has an established permanent Committee to deal with safety, environment and social responsibility (SESR) matters and monitor Group sustainability policies, practices, commitments and actions in these areas.

We comply with the law and work responsibly. We pride ourselves on the strength of our corporate governance structures, continuously reviewing to ensure they remain of the highest standards. We are widely recognised as a leader in corporate governance and continue to embed all aspects of sustainability into our business strategy.

CRH is committed to respecting internationally recognised human rights - as set out in the International Bill of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation’s Core Labour Principles - across our operations and extended supply chain. We continue to uphold our strong values across our business with our Code of Business Conduct and throughout our supply chain with our Supplier Code of Conduct. We continue to collaborate with our suppliers and other stakeholders to drive improvements in the supply chain and support them in providing good jobs and managing their environmental impacts.

Our 2022 performance:

  • In 2022, 100% of new suppliers were screened in line with our SCoC, helping to drive our commitment of delivering sustainable value across our supply chains.
